ProtectMyRent.co.uk – Terms of Service

These Terms govern the ProtectMyRent.co.uk service (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Service”). By using the website or purchasing the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed.

1. About ProtectMyRent.co.uk

The Service provides a digital rent analysis based on public and licensed data sources plus a generated template letter tenants can use to discuss or challenge proposed rent increases. Everything is informational only: we are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice or representation.

2. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this site or in our generated content is legal advice. You alone decide whether to send any letter, how to interpret the analysis, and whether to obtain independent legal or professional advice. You accept all consequences arising from communications with landlords, agents, or tribunals.

3. The Service

Purchases include a data-driven overview of rent levels (e.g., PropertyData, ONS/VOA, live listings) and an automatically generated template letter tailored to your inputs. We cannot guarantee data availability, completeness, tribunal acceptance, landlord agreement, or third-party accuracy. The Service is provided “as is”.

4. Refund Policy (Digital Goods)

Because digital outputs are delivered immediately, all sales are final and non-refundable. By completing payment you request immediate delivery, acknowledge the loss of any cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and agree no refunds will be issued.

5. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Review, edit, and send outputs at your own discretion.
  • Do not misuse, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • Accept full responsibility for all communications you send.

6. Data Sources and Limitations

Our analysis references third-party data (PropertyData, ONS/VOA, public datasets, etc.). These sources may change or become unavailable. We do not guarantee completeness, accuracy, or that every comparable will be captured. Treat the analysis as guidance, not a valuation or legal determination.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law we are not liable for losses or disputes arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded (e.g., fraud).

8. Privacy & Data Handling

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we process it, and how to request deletion. Using the Service constitutes acceptance of that policy.

9. Use of AI

Letters and some outputs use AI (e.g., OpenAI). AI content may contain errors and requires your own review. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in generated text.

10. Availability of the Service

We may update, suspend, or remove any part of the Service at any time. We are not responsible for downtime, technical issues, or changes to third-party APIs/datasets.

11. Intellectual Property

All website content and generated analysis (excluding your inputs) belong to ProtectMyRent.co.uk. You have a personal licence to use your outputs for your tenancy only. You may not resell, republish, distribute, or exploit any part of the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
